| The war isn’t over for so many, everyone in Iraq, and vets and their families here at home, how will you remember what they can not forget? Our allies at Iraq Veterans Against the War, the Center on Constitutional Rights, the Organization of Women’s Freedom in Iraq and the Federation of Workers Councils and Unions in Iraq invite you to join them in Washington, DC March 26 for: PEOPLE’S HEARING ON THE LASTING IMPACT OF THE WAR IN IRAQ On the 11th anniversary of the U.S. invasion of Iraq, Iraqi civil society leaders and U.S. military veterans will testify to the lasting impact of the war and make the case that the U.S. government must be held to account for the serious damage it has caused. From the U.S.’s role in sectarian violence and the ongoing health crisis caused by toxic munitions and burn pits used during the occupation, to the destructive effects of multiple and concurrent deployments and stigma faced when attempting to access care and support from the Department of Veterans Affairs, they are demanding the Right to Heal. We encourage you to participate to your greatest ability. Yanar Mohammed is president and co-founder of the Organization of Women’s Freedom in Iraq (OWFI). Mozhgan Savabieasfahani is an environmental toxicologist with a focus on health impacts of war. Pamela Spees is a Senior Staff Attorney at the Center for Constitutional Rights.
